This film has taken a long time. Unfortunately, I only have the film on vimeo and not much BTS stuff because it is on a different computer than this. It started out as Gwen, Devin and I wanting to go for best film about the life of a quarter. It quickly transitioned into this music video. It then led to us taking practice shots which we thought were good then, but know they aren't now. It was just Gwen wearing a hoodie that we filmed around campus. We learned quickly that that wouldn't cut it, so we found a couple really good spots to film, such as off of river road, near some cows on the dene farm, and in our own Riley Center. Some of the shots we are working on replacing, just waiting for the right time to shoot, but some of them are incredible as is. The next process was the editing. In the beginning of the semester I was awful at everything, but I quickly pushed myself to become the best editor in the class using Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro. They were very tough to learn, but are so awesome to use and produce great transitions and effects, which I hand made, they aren't presets. I also had to learn how to animate my own composition in After Effects, such as the text in the beginning in all different colors being written out, or also Gwen disintegrating at the end. After the past couple months, I am very happy with how it looks now, and know if I work on it here and there once we replace some shots it could be a really good contender for the Gawliks. The only reason it took this long because most of it was waiting fo the right weather to film in, and me learning how to edit pretty much. Next semester Johnny and I want to pair up for a music video which could potentially be better and more efficient because I can get it done much faster with the help of him, and now that I am confident with my skills.
